10 Top Superfoods of 2023

Sofrito Lovers,
New year, new you, right? Ugh, I hate that corny-ass nonsense! One thing I do believe is that stocking up on delicious healthy food is always a good idea. With that in mind, let us look at what we could be eating a bit more of these days.
The GoodHousingKeeping.com article posted below highlights a few "super foods" you should consider adding to your diet. By the way, the term "super food" is marketing nonsense. The idea that some foods are vastly better for you than others is ridiculous.
All fruits, vegetables, and grains are contain minerals and vitamins that are good for you. Each one has different nutrients and health benefits. The idea that some are healthier than others is next to impossible to determine or measure. It's all a marketing ploy to get you to buy one fruit, vegetable, or grain over another. You literally cannot compare apples to oranges-so don't, just eat them both.
I love that the article highlights the benefits of dark chocolate (my favorite bitter flavor in the world), fermented foods (I cannot live without Kimchi), legumes (beans, all day), and cruciferous vegetables (I live for Broccoli and brussels sprouts). I live for these foods, and a reminder of how good they are is motivating and inspiring. I'm going to try some Hemp Seeds (also recommended in the article) and eat more pomegranate as well.
Read the article below and see if you get inspired to try some things. Go taste for yourself! ¡Buen Provecho!

The term may have originated in the early 20th century around the promotion of bananas and today is loosely associated with nutrient-dense foods that contain high antioxidant properties or are rich in fiber or fatty acids.
Basically, some foods outperform others in terms of the amount of vitamins, minerals and overall nutrients they provide. While there are many foods that can fit this profile, we compiled a list of our 10 favorite foods that legitimately deserve the label “superfood” because of the health benefits they contain.
